  • Chinchilla

Chinchillas are animals with very soft, grayish fur. They are known to have the densest fur of any land-dwelling mammal. Thanks to their fine, dense fur, they are able to ward off parasites such as ticks and fleas. With ears that are large relative to their bodies, they have keen hearing that allows them to quickly detect predators and dart into rock crevices to hide. They typically live in groups of 10 or more, sometimes numbering over 100.

  • Fennec fox

The Fennec fox is characterized by ears larger than its face. This allows it to hear even the faintest sounds, helping it locate and eat insects underground and stay alert to its surroundings. Their large ears also help regulate body temperature, allowing them to thrive in the desert where temperatures vary greatly depending on the season and time of day. Their paws are covered in fur, so their feet don’t sink into the sand easily, even in sandy deserts. That doesn’t mean desert foxes like the heat, though. That’s why they’re mainly active on cooler nights.

  • Cotton-top tamarin

It has white, cotton-like fur on its head, making it look as if it’s wearing a fur hat. That’s why it’s called the “Cotton-headed.” It is very small, measuring 17 cm in body length, 25 cm in tail length, and weighing an average of 430 g. However, its call sounds similar to a bird’s song and is said to be audible from as far as 200 meters away. Even when fighting, they face each other and continuously emit their calls.

1. Self-introduction

Zoolungzoolung~ Nice to meet you!

I am Cheshire Zoolungman, the life guardian of the Hanam branch.

I strive every day to ensure that both the animals and the residents have a happier day. My biggest goal is to provide a comfortable environment for the animals and warm memories for the residents.

2. Do you have any special moments where you connected with animals?

Even though we cannot communicate verbally, there are definitely moments when our hearts connect when we are with the animals.

Whether it is making eye contact, approaching me, or comfortably entrusting themselves to my care, these small, warm moments make the day special, even though it may seem like the same routine every day.

I encourage residents to take a moment to make eye contact with the animals at the Hanam branch. It will make for a special day!

3. Message to the Residents

Various interaction programs are being held at the Hanam branch!

Beyond simply looking around, this will be an opportunity for you to participate and help Zoolungman and our animal friends get a step closer to you.

Our Zoolungman will also always welcome residents with bright smiles. Have a fun and warm day at Zoolungzoolung Hanam!
